Jerry Landkamer was elected as a national vice commander of The American Legion on Aug. 28, 2025, during the 106th National Convention in Tampa, Fla.
A Vietnam veteran, Landkamer’s eligibility in The American Legion comes from his service in the U.S. Navy. He was stationed at Naval Air Station Miramar in San Diego, Calif., with Fighter Squadron 1 (the first commissioned F-14 Squadron), and then onboard the USS Enterprise CVAN-65.
A Legionnaire since 1975, Landkamer is a member of American Legion Post 16 in Norfolk, NE. He has held offices at every level of the organization, including post, county, district and area.
